In 1891, Silas Griffith built this estate as a wedding gift for his new bride, Katherine Tiel. Silas was Vermont's first millionaire and "Lumber Baron". His selection of a site was outstanding; the buildings are nestled on 10+ acres of rolling meadows offering a 360-degree view of the Taconic and Green Mountains.
