Whether you are staying in the Manor House or the Carriage
House, the Great Room (a large living room), the Music Room,
and the Parlor Room (a media room featuring television, DVD
movies, and some video games), are Common Rooms for all
guests. Admire the elegance of the late Victorian period as
seen in the hand-carved cherry and bird's eye maple woodwork,
the beautifully embossed tin ceilings, the stained glass windows,
and the original overhead beams. |
In the Great Room you will find a selection of books from our
personal libraries for your reading pleasure. Make selections
at your leisure, and return them before check-out. In the Game
Corner you will find puzzles and table games; card tables are
available as well, if needed for additional gaming. At times we
will run board game competitions, if enough are interested.
And should chess be your game, we have that as well!
The Music Room is a quiet area for reading if no musical activities are taking place.
We offer instruction in piano, voice, and music theory (at the
going rates for private lessons). Performances of chamber
music will be scheduled there, in addition to Folk and Celtic
music. See the Front Desk for a schedule of events. |

The Formal Dining Room is available for big card games or
large group gaming. Speak to an Innkeeper if additional
seating is required.
 |
 |
The Parlor Room/Media Room features television, a DVD
player for movies, and some video games. Please remember
that we are a Family-Friendly Inn; no inappropriate movies
or games are permitted. We are always concerned for the
welfare of your children, and ours!
Please inquire at the front desk for a list of available
movies and games. |
| The Gazebo Spa is open seasonally, its inviting waters
heated to 104°F. Please note that children and expectant mothers are not
allowed in the jacuzzi due to the high temperature and the high level of chlorine
required.
Our outdoor heated pool is available seasonally, weather permitting. Sunbathe beside the pool, surrounded
by ancient birches and riotous flowers against a backdrop
of meadows and forested mountains.

The Silas Griffith Inn has large, shady porches where you can
rock or sit, read or knit, or simply enjoy bird and/or people
watching. In the mood for a walk? Meander through the
village of Danby and browse the local stores, or climb our
rolling meadows. There are many hiking trails throughout
the mountains nearby.
 |
| In the Autumn, the mountains above us become vibrant with color as the leaves change with the season. In the mood for Winter sports? We are located just minutes from the ski areas of Killington, Stratton and Bromley. For an offroad adventure, Danby has miles of snow-mobiling trails for winter fun. |
